This position is responsible for providing support to the MedPIP claims branch. Daily tasks include a variety of tasks that assist MedPIP associates with the clerical aspects of claim handling. These include but are not limited to: document creation, preparation and mailing, working tasks from assigned queue(s), maintaining tracking log(s), and contacting medical providers to obtain necessary information. Additionally, this role will assist leadership as assigned, including assisting with the scheduling of interviews and updating branch phone lists. An essential part of this job is to contribute to the greater good of the organization and assist with special projects or provide assistance to other team members as may be required. The role is also encouraged to engage in initiatives and offer suggestions for improvement where deficiencies exist for the benefit of all. 

  • Drafts routine correspondence in compliance with department and state requirements
  • Electronically labels, files and forwards medical bills for review
  • Works tasks inclusive of assigned queue(s) which may include: locating and updating missing information, accurate data input into the vendor IRS database, following guidelines and regulations from all participating institutions, indexing mail, printing and preparing correspondence for mailing and expedites urgent matters
  • Contacts medical providers to obtain forms and/or information needed to process claim
  • Assigns claim files that have not be auto-assigned
  • Updates tracking logs as assigned
  • Assists with outgoing and incoming phone calls
  • Assists leadership with scheduling of interviews, updating branch phone lists and performing other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications, including Word, Windows and Excel required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills needed
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to listen with compassion and understanding are essential
  • Must be able to give great attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must have the ability to read, research, identify and make decisions based on guidelines given
