Responsibilities

Design, develop, test and implement projects using Amazon Web Services and cloud development tools in support of data warehouse and business analytics applications.



Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Design, test and implement cloud BI / DW infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain complex cloud ETL processes originating from multiple data sources.
  • Participate in architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful cloud deployment.
  • Develop, manage and maintain data staging areas and data models to meet new and changing business requirements.
  • Collaborate with the DW development team to share and acquire development ideas and knowledge.
  • Create efficient SQL queries to analyze data from external applications and the data warehouse.
  • Peer review the logic and test the results of team member development.
  • Derive development estimates from project specifications.
  • Define and develop quality control monitors to validate data loads.
  • Facilitate cross team and cross component collaboration.
  • Evaluate and recommend products that enhance our cloud BI / DW solution.
  • Analyze and resolve user issues reported to the Support Desk.
  • Perform other duties as directed by management.


Job Requirements





Experience/Skills Requirements

  • 2 years of experience with Business Intelligence and enterprise Data Warehouse products
  • Python experience
  • 2 years of AWS S3, EMR, EC2, Glue and Lambda experience is preferred
  • Experience with Hadoop ecosystem technologies HDFS, Spark, Sqoop, MapReduce, Storm, Oozie, Zeppelin, YARN, Flume and Zookeeper is preferred
  • Experience with Scala and Java is very beneficial
  • Experience with the Linux operating system is very beneficial
  • Experience parsing JSONs is very beneficial
  • Microsoft SQL Server development experience is very beneficial
  • Microsoft SSAS experience is very beneficial
  • Microsoft SSIS experience is beneficial
  • Knowledge of automobile insurance systems is beneficial
  • Knowledge of IT best operating practices and methodologies
  • Communicate well in both oral and written form
  • An understanding of the Microsoft SQL Server Agent and scheduled jobs is beneficial
  • Tableau or other data visualization experience is beneficial
  • COGNOS or other BI application experience involving development of dimensions and measures is beneficial



Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field (Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology etc.), Business Analytics or Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
