At The General our goal is to be a data-driven organization and we are looking for a highly driven Sr. Digital Data Analyst to join our rapidly growing digital team. This role is responsible for the management and execution of the digital team’s analytics reporting. The ideal candidate is someone who is naturally curious and desires to seek out answers by diving deep into the data.

You must be motivated to use data to impact business decisions and you must be familiar with current digital analytical concepts including, but not limited to, marketing channel attribution, web analytics, channel conversion, and ROI analysis.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Takes ownership of the digital team’s area/initiative analysis and delivers that information company-wide to provide transparency into digital performance – including area Scorecards. 
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Proactively develop digital KPI reporting and analysis; highlight observations in business context to deliver actionable recommendations, not just data.
  • Perform short-term and ad hoc analyses as requested.
  • Manage and operate the digital team’s analytical programs, including but not limited to:
    • Google applications programs: Google Analytics, Google Firebase, Google Tag Manager, Google Optimize, and Google Data Studio
    • IBM Tealeaf analytical program
  • Lead the improvement and automation of all digital analytics programs and KPIs through platforms such as Alteryx and Tableau.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Experience/Skills Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting dashboards (Tableau, etc.), database querying (SQL etc.), programming for data visualization (Python and R a plus).
  • Expert proficiency in web analytics tools including Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and/or IBM Tealeaf.
  • Strong knowledge of statistics (descriptive, inferential, and experimental design) and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc.)
  • Ability to work collaboratively acting as a subject matter expert within a team environment to help define and meet measurement criteria and goals
  • Must be a self-motivator with strong project management skills
  • Excellent strategic and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient PC and Windows skills (advanced skills in Excel, Access, SQL, and web analytics tools)
  • Basic understanding is required of mobile platforms iOS and Android, and OS Browsers IE, Safari, Chrome, Firefox. 

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree in business, finance, economics, statistics, or related field with minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Training and experience with Google, IBM Tealeaf, Alteryx and Tableau is preferred.
