Job Description


This position will be responsible and accountable for coordination, competitive intelligence, execution and measurement of assigned strategic planning to tactical initiatives within the product development group. The role requires a unique blend of initiative and interpersonal communication skills in order to effectively work cross-functionally and coordinate the product development life cycle throughout the organization.


  • Work with leadership to manage the entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities to ensure effective execution and completion of initiatives
  • Assist in development of new approaches and solutions to solve company product and pricing challenges and complete research and development activities in evaluation of strategic product opportunities
  • Conduct market research to become familiar with requirements for current and future products supported by on-going evaluation of customers, products and competitors
  • Research the non-standard product marketplace in order to gain advanced knowledge of the competition’s strengths, weaknesses and products in order to analyze the company’s ability to compete within the market
  • Collaborate with all departments to assist in effective & efficient execution of product development initiatives
  • Analyze potential partner relationships
  • May perform people management functions to include, but not limited to: hire, coach, develop, motivate, train, evaluate, reward, discipline and terminate. Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business related field required (Business Administration, Marketing, Information Technology, etc.)
  • 4+ years of demonstrated proficiency as a product manager preferably with product development experience and extensive insurance knowledge; extensive knowledge of the non-standard product is preferred
  • Project management knowledge and working knowledge of project management software required
  • Professional oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organization and analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Windows, Excel)
  • Ability to perform basic and advance mathematical calculations
  • Ability to effectively organize and present an agenda to large internal and external customer meetings
  • Ability to research and interpret information which requires refining and improving existing methods of analysis and or developing new ideas
